Review:

Where to begin? We’ve just returned from a 3-night stay at the cabin and we are still coming to terms with our experience.

First of all, the majority of promoted ‘cabins’ are, truth be told, what amount to glorified sheds….nothing could be further from the truth with this home (and it is a home and should be treated as such).
From the moment you set eyes upon it as you approach, to entering through the door, it is a true log-cabin in the grandest sense.
Once the initial visuals take hold & the sheer magnificence of the building, the next thing to hit your senses as you approach the main door is the wonderful all-encompassing smell of cedar…its a natural relaxant on the senses & carries through as you walk over the threshold.
The interior:-….the photographs will never do it justice…Alison quietly mentioned in an email that interior design is “her thing”….never has there been such an understatement….every aspect of the aesthetic & functional has been executed to perfection. Her eye for detail and ambience is second to none.
Experience:-….trust us, everything has been thought through….all you need to do is rock up & the rest is done. Log burner, hot tub, fully-equipped kitchen (every gadget you could wish for), Sky Q, washer/dryer…fixtures & fittings & finishes you would get in any 5* residence. Alison also constantly re-assures in being contactable in any emergencies etc or for general enquiries so never do you feel on your own (heads up due to the professionalism and whole package we never had to rely on any such comms).
Setting:-….a 30-second stroll down the guided path (alongside the fabulous burn to which the hot tub overlooks) will lead you directly to the shores of Loch Garry where you will see nothing but water & the magnificent glen surrounding you for miles on end. Here is where you truly gather your thoughts and realise why you booked this place (kayaks even provided for the adventurous). Having said this you're only 10/20/40 mins from towns in various directions for any essential services or varied dining options for local fayre.
Notes:-…..the remoteness means that, for the time being, although you may get mobile comms dependant on your provider, there is no wi-fi…..but speaking as someone who thought he could not do without this on a daily basis…..is that a bad thing to truly switch off?…but rest assured that Alison provides a host of alternative nearby locations where those who truly feel the need, can connect….but go for it….try the alternative…switch off.
Summary:- We make no apologies for the somewhat extensive comments as we want to get across what stands the cabin high above any of the other accommodation and experiences you may be considering.

Anything to add?

Thanks Alison for the absolute privilege of sharing your home.
